Nightlife is low-key in Turunç, but there are more than enough restaurants to enable you to eat in a different place every night on a 2 week holiday, you really are spoilt for choice, and everywhere you will get a warm Turkish welcome!
The food is wonderful, chicken, lamb, steak and fish are all available in abundance, and cooked in some delicious sauces. Every meal is accompanied by fresh vegetables, salad or rice. In some restaurants you can see the bread being made and then baked in open ovens.
You can also experience the typically Turkish Meze, which are small dishes consisting of aubergine, tomatoes, beans, courgettes often with yoghurt, garlic, chillies, pepper and fresh herbs. Hot meze are also available and are usually small parcels of filo pastry containing meat or cheese. Meze can be eaten as a starter or maybe as a light lunch.
There are also a few music bars in the village, which make for quite a lively atmosphere in high season. The main street is pedestrianised at night, allowing holidaymakers to spend the evening safely, browsing in the shops and deciding which of the many restaurants to eat in.
You'll soon find after your first few days, you'll be recognized and greeted as you wander around, but fortunately without being hassled, unlike some of the big resorts.
During the day, out of high season, the restaurants and bars that back the beach allow free use of their sunbeds, and provide a waiter service to you as you relax on the beach.
Some of our favourites are:
Minem - Lovely small restaurant, where Vedat will give you a warm welcome.
Oba 09 - Relax on the cushions after your meal with a coffee.
Yunus - Delicious pancakes!
Bondjuk - try the famous Bondjuk salad, oven baked lamb(24 hrs notice)
Çinar - Cheap, but good Turkish simple food with very nice service.
Çardak - Will arrange fireworks and cake for birthdays
Surmen - We enjoy lunch here overlooking the beach
