The resort of Turunç
Turunç lies literally at the end of the mountain road, a truly beautiful coastal village that has managed to retain both character and charm. With little traffic, and real village atmosphere, it makes for a wonderful holiday destination. As you catch your first glimpse over the bay, when you come over the mountain, you just know you have found a real gem of a place! The sand and shingle beach at Turunç is the proud holder of the Blue Riband, the annual award for the cleanest sea water and beaches in Turkey.
A holiday in Turunç is what you make it! You can chill by the pool or on the beach with your book, or on those days when you have the inclination to do something more energetic there are endless possibilities. You can get around by dolmus, taxi boats or take a boat trip .You can visit a water park,or do some water sports or take an overnight trip to the ancient ruins of Ephesus. Why not have a Turkish bath, or a massage if you feel in need of a little pampering!
The choice of restaurants in the village is varied offering a good standard of both authentic Turkish cuisine and a wider Mediterranean menu.
A small selection of shops are located in the main street - which is pedestrianised each evening - and a good range of waterside restaurants and bars provide a pleasant and relaxed nightlife, although in high season the main street can be quite lively and bustling.
One of the main attractions of this region is the stunning walking. The coastal track passes the ruins and small picturesque bay of Amos and then on to Kumlubuk- taking about an hour-and-a-half to walk, and the views over Turunç bay are spectacular. Turunç is the ideal destination for couples and families with children of all ages, from toddlers who will love the beach, to teenagers, where the low-key nightlife is perfect for them to spread their wings a little in an environment that feels safe.
